This universal design is as common a sight as ever, although the bicycle designs may have changed! The angled racks allowed the maximum number of bikes into the space. Up to the 1960's, when most cycling was done by adults unable to afford cars, large cycle racks would be found outside factories and works buildings. Now that cycling is having a reinaissance as a leisure activity, it is common to find cycle racks like this outside public buildings, including the paltforms of railway stations. Area 74 x 37mm.
