Delivery Types & Locations Explained
We try to use the most cost effective and efficient method of delivery to get your order to you as quickly and safely as possible. Below we explain the two types of delivery service and the different locations we deliver to.
All delivery charges are based on the individual weights of each product, which includes an element of weight for packaging. If your order contains lots of small items and the delivery charge seems too high, please contact us and will see if the charge should be amended.
All orders are sent by recorded delivery requiring a signature or other proof of successful delivery. All orders up to 2kg are sent by Royal Mail and the domestic postal service. in the destination country. Orders over 2kg within the UK mainland are sent by courier. Orders over 2kg to the Channel Island, IoM, IoW, EU and internationally are sent by Royal Mail Parcel Force and other parcel services in the destination country.
Orders will not be despatched until all items on the order are in stock and available, unless otherwise agreed in advance. If ordering items that are out of stock or hand built to order please bear in mind that this will delay other items on the order being despatched.
TYPES OF DELIVERY SERVICE
DPD NEXT DAY: Orders placed Monday - Thursday before 12pm given that all items are in stock will be dispatched for next day delivery to UK mainland. SPO, out of stock or orders placed after the 12pm cut off time will be dispatched next working day or when the items are available
ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 48: Sent using recorded delivery with tracking not insurance. Not recommended for higher value orders, which will only be sent at customer's own risk using this method. High value items such as locos should not be assigned this service. Royal Mail aim to deliver within 48 hours where possible.
ROYAL MAIL 2ND CLASS: Sent using recorded delivery without tracking no insurance. This service can take longer but Royal Mail aim to deliver within three to five days.
PREMIUM: Sent using recorded delivery with tracking and insurance. High value items such as locos are automatically assigned this service. (Orders up to 2kg to Australia, Japan, Italy, India and some other countries are not tracked with this option as domestic postal services in these countries do not offer tracking but are they are still recorded and insured. Orders over 2kg are tracked as well in these countries as they tend to go through a different delivery provider).
STANDARD: Sent using recorded delivery without tracking or insurance. Not recommended for higher value orders, which will only be sent at customer's own risk using this method. High value items such as locos are not assigned this service.
We reserve the right to send any order by any suitable means at our discretion at no extra charge.

We send orders to the UK, the European Union countries listed below, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. We may send orders to other countries at our discretion - please enquire for details and prices.
