Wheelie Bins in this style were first seen in the UK in 1968 when they were invented as a means of waste transportation between areas of a mouldings company who designed them. It is believed that on a routine visit a health and safety inspector saw them in use and realised their full potential.
Since then more and more of these wheelie bins have entered use, with councils adopting them as the standard waste collection method, even adapting their vehicles to directly interact with this style of bin.
